ESSAY TOPIC~Do you agree that progress is always positive? ?
I do not believe that progress is always positive, and no one should progress just for the sake of progress. It takes wise decision-making and an understanding of the current situation. I'm a business student, so I'll use an example from my studies. One of the common reasons for the failure of businesses is expansion. Sounds weird, but many companies do not know how to handle growth. Say a retail company has the money to open 5 new stores. Without the proper planning, top management might decide to build the stores in locations that will not end up being profitable to the company. Maybe a profitable company buys up a smaller company that has been struggling to stay out of the red. The big company thinks an injection of cash will turn its new division around and promote growth; instead it begins to drag the company down. There have been banks that have been handing out loans left and right and now they're not getting paid back. The intentions of progress always seem to be positive, but things are usually much trickier beneath the surface.
