What mascara is best?

Ok so I tried chanel inimitable intense mascara and it was terrible. I'm gonna return it but I don't know which mascara to exchange it for. Which chanel mascara do you think is best? I have really short stubby lashes so I want an extremely lengthening mascara. Also, it wouldn't hurt if the mascara gave a false lash affect. or do u think lancome hypnose or definicils are better?
