What great gifts has the evolutionary theory given to mankind?

Wow - you don't consider understanding our roots an important thing? Nor the understanding that all living thing are related? Nor the fact that we can understand our human behaviors better because we have a better idea of how they were formed? Nor that we can diagnose human illnesses better and find cures more easily because we understand some of the genetic evolution of the human race?
