How do I protect my new furniture from my toddler?

I got a great deal on some new furniture and couldn't p up on the savings. I bought an entire bedroom set for my 1.5 year old little girl. It is a great bedroom set and can last years and years if I can take care of it. My little girl loves to draw and whenever she finds a pen, she goes crazy and tries to write on everything. I will hide all pens with the new furniture but I am wondering if there is a special kind of varnish spray that I can spray the furniture with to help it wipe away marks easier. If not, then I totally deserve any marks that may come from my daughter-- it will be inevitable I am sure. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions :) Thanks in advance!!! :) :) :)
