What is her problem w/ my messages?

She has accused me of being self-centered, totally ignoring the encouragement I have given her over the months. this is thru e-mail and IM. Now she has given me hatefull e-mail after I ask her for a little validation. I don't know the netiquette for this. I'm not in the habit of f-ing around on-line for no purpose Y!A? and AB is different, a few harmless questions. On the otherhand if you send me IM and email I demand a certain amount of trust. Why did she even contact a stranger 1,000 mi away just to F around. I consider that dangerous behavior. Forgive if I'm wrong, I'm an old man, but I'm furious about this S***. Should I turn off my email and IM option in my profile? I don't need all this trouble just to F around with strangers w/ no commitment.
