What is this memory about spaceships?

I know I was biologically born human, but I have a memory before I was born. I was on a vessel. I was asked which people I would pick to raise me. I didn't want to leave. I was sad because I liked where I was at. A person told me that I was going to leave where I was at to be born human. I got to choose if I wanted to be male or female and choose the personality of my parents. All I remember is that I saw myself fully grown before I was born. The person talking to me might have been an administrator. When I was very young, I always knew life on this planet was temporary for me and that I'd eventually get all my memories back.
